HAVE YOU EVER LOCKED YOUR KEYS IN YOUR CAR?
*This only works if your car has remote controlled locks.Also you need a CELL PHONE handy at your car.Ever Lock your keys in the car?If you lock your keys in the car and the spare keys(remote) are home,call someone at home on your cell phone.Hold your cell phone about a foot from your car door and have the other person at your home press the unlock button on the remote,holding it near the phone on their end.Your car will unlock.Saves someone from having to drive your keys to you.


(Distance is no object.You could be hundreds of miles away, and if you can reach someone who has the other "remote"for your car, you can unlock the doors(or the trunk!) Editors Note: *It works fine! We tried it out and it unlocked our car over a cell phone!)

Sounds like to me. Key fobs work off of radio frequency. Telephones take sound and convert to analog signal, the radio frequency would be lost. Just not feasible.

my g/fs mom was ranting about this and swore it worked cause they called from across the house and it unlocked the door, DUH.

 

You can use your phone to unlock your doors if you have onstar. I would bet that someone was just ****ing around with someone and now they tell everyone it works.

tried it from a few miles, NO GO!....sounded good in theory though, but as vortex said you convert a frequency to an analog "sound" by using teh phone. so that kinda blew it out teh water right away, but i tried anyway

 

hey guys....here is the scoop...........i went home and tried it with my car that has a custom alarm.Its a 02 civic......I called my sister at our house phone, while she had my keys........i went down a couple of blocks with my spare key. sat outside the car, and told her to push the button over the phone.......and BAM.....WALA! it locked and unlocked my car.

So me thinking, Ok, maybe this is a just a co-incidence(sp?) I asked my buddy if i could try it with his 04 350z, with factory alarm. I nabbed his keys, and road off on my fiddy, until i could see him anymore..........atleast a good 2-3 football fields. I called his cell, and made him stand by his door, and boom, it unlocked his car.....It even rolled down his windows......so,this is not a SCAM.....ATLEAST TO MY KNOWLEDGE, BY EXPERIENCE.
