throttle cable adjustment?
throttle cable adjustment?
hey whats up guys, i'm installing a takegawa 88cc s-stage combo kit and it came with a pc18 carb. I'm having trouble adjusting the throttle cable so that the spring under the carb cap isnt so tight. I'm trying to make it so the thin silver wire comes out more of the carb cap, so that my engine doesnt rev when i start it. DOES ANYONE KNOW HOW TO ADJUST THE THROTTLE CABLE SO THAT THE SPRING IS MORE LOSE?
Re: throttle cable adjustment?
did you kit come with a new cable?
I have the same carb and it will not work with a stock cable.
Try Zoom Cycle in Santa Clara or Santa Clara Cycle.
They sometimes stock the cable you need.
Tell them you need a extended Carb cable for a 18 mil carb. you might also want to mention your throttle type.

Re: throttle cable adjustment?
I had the short problem with my big bore throttle cable they sent me. What i did was cut the cable housing at the carb about 1/4 to 1/2 inch at a time. You can cut it with wire snips and taking your time.
