Zongshen 110cc not fitting?

Hey. I just bought one of those zongshen 110cc motors of of ebay. The carb that came with it won't clear the frame . The top where the throttle cable connects runs right into the bottom of the frame. Did anyone else have a problem similar to this? Or is there some special modification I need to make to get this thing to fit?

cable should run right between the frame and gas tank. if it dont work, get a new intake and carb. the zongshen ones are junk anyhow.

Re: Zongshen 110cc not fitting?

well its not the cable thats in the way its the entire assembly. Like the rise on the pipe is way to big... the frame rests right ontop of the carb, which in turn doesn't allow the engine mounting holes to line up with the engine. I think i might just cut the pipe and tig it and angle it outwards a little, like a chopper :YEAH . That might work. Or does anyone have any other Ideas? Or how did you all install yours?

go to http://www.hondaminitrail.com/XR50.html and get one of these. it offsets the carb off the left side of the bike so that everything clears. get a filter while you are at it. you'll need it.

! thanks a lot!

One more question. Does anyone know about the wiring of these motors? The cdi box and the stuff directly into the engine. Its all Fu**** up...

Thanks again.

On my lifan i just used the stock cdi and coil. As for the wires, trial and error.

Re: Zongshen 110cc not fitting?

OK I FOUND IT.

HERE IT IS FOR ANYONE WHO STILL WANTS TO KNOW>

Wiring instructions for Zongshen 110cc engine

Use the coil provided with the Zongshen motor and you
can eliminate the stock key/coil

Use the igniter/CDI provided with the Zongshen motor,
it will require a bit of tweaking
to get it to fit, but it works and worth 200 more
revs.

The wire connector plugs from the engine are a little
different, so when connecting, take
a little screwdriver and pry the plugs open a tad so
the bullet type connectors slide in
more easily.

The Yellow wire and the White wires coming Out of the
Zongshen motor are for lights and the rectifier
regulator and are not needed for XR50/CRF50/70
applications, just tape those ends.

The Green wire w/Red stripe is a neutral indicator
switch wire and is also not needed.

That leaves 3 wires coming from the motor.

The Solid Green wire from Zongshen motor plugs into
Green coming from XR/CRF wire harness.

The Blue! /White wire from Zongshen motor connects to
Blue/Yellow coming from XR/CRF
wire harness.

The Red/Black wire from Zongshen motor connects to the
Red/Black wire from XR/CRF wire harness.

The Black/White wire coming from the bike plugs into
the secong Black/White wire from
bike (you'll have an empty black/white "female" next
to it)

And finally the Green wire next to the Black/White
coming from the bike gets grounded
to the frame.

When you get everything where you think it goes, just
remove the spark plug and ground it to the engine,
kick the motor over and you should see a spark from
the spark plug.

One other method to wiring is to simply use your old
rotor and stator from your original engine. Simply
remove the chain side cover from your engine, remove
the flywheel nut. Take the flywheel off and then
remove the 2 phillips screws that hold the stator into
the engine. Remove the stator being careful not to
damage the large rubber o-ring that seals the stator
plate into the engine. You'll also notice 2 small
rubber o-rings please make sure to put those back in
place when re-assembling. Then take the stator and
rotor off as one unit. Next, place the old
Rotor/Stator assembly and old flywheel into the
Zongshen engine and secure with the same method of
removal. Make sure you properly tighten the flywheel
nutNow you'll have just two wires coming from your
Zongshen engine that will easily plug back into your
original harness.
