Tru Tru.... Me either... FU(K I was without power, water and phone for 8 days.. FU(K FPL!
I'm back.. Tuesday night was tight up here.. about 60+ showed at Hooters of Palm Beach Lakes Blvd from Miami to PSL. Too bad COPs had to do there thing at Church but before that, it was rock'n.
We're trying to get the crew from up here to travel down to FtLd on FRIDAY night for Fudds and jet of to Springs or somewhere to just screw around.. We normally travel North 45 mins to PSL so I figure we could try doing a 45min ride south one night a week.
Let's just ride... FTP!

As for Criss and your employer…
Let them know that when stock prices where down 3-4 years ago and they decided to down size personnel / field crews and do away with "PREVENTIVE MAINTAINANCE", it looked good to the share holder's but really was not that good of an idea. At the time, annalists asked the question, how about if a large hurricane would strike and knock down the uncut trees and in turn your power lines, what then? They had no answer then nor do they have an explanation now. It’s terrible that crews from all over the country and CANADA had to come down too assist us due to FPL’s neglect. Surely there would still have been damage from the storm as there always is but the close to 3 million without power from a Cat 2 and then hundreds of thousands still without power 2 weeks later was completely unexecpted and a serious wakeup call to management. My hat is off to the 1000's of out of state crews for their help in gets things put back together!
I think after the pending FPL investigation is complete a year or two from now, all the millions that went over a week without power will receive a small token credit in their bill. Just a guess!
I remember being down here 20+ years ago and FPL use to cut trees back away from power lines on a regular bases to prevent trouble. Now that prevention is no longer a term that they wish to be associated with, one must call FPL themselves to have something cut or it just won’t happen.
A monopoly needs to be held to a higher standard just like MICROSOFT and others. I think maybe things will change in the future. If only they would have had the foresight as Westinghouse did for Coral Springs in the late 60’s and run ALL lines underground the outages would be shorter and less frequent as well as being safer and more secure during times of extreme weather conditions.
While I lived in Corel Springs for 20+ years I found that power outages didn’t happen very often but when they did, they would never last more then a few hour and 9 times out of 10 would be caused by one of those big *** green transformer boxes outside on the street corner blowing up!
After all is said and done, it is clear that FPL was not the only entity, which dropped the ball during this crisis. When the Veterans Hospital’s administration has to call a local radio station to try and get in touch with the EOC or governors office while their hospital staff walks buckets of water from a standing pond out front just to flush patience’s toilets, WE HAVE MORE SERIOUS PROBLEMS!
Positive / Negative, whatever, just food for thought and a’lil rant. You inside information would be great here, GOOD or BAD!
LET’S JUST WHEELIE!

but on a better note, I'll take pics of you guys too. I just bought the digi cam that took those pics on the above thread. Still getting the hang of it...
Hopefully, in the next week or two, we'll get to ride. Maybe meet up with you guys...

Thanks Cris for the props below. I practice whenever possible but that only seem to be once or twice a week.. X( Oh well. Would be really nice to see ya'll again. I think the last time was at Fudd's like 7 months ago or so ago. hehehe
As for the digicam; Practice like anything else makes perfect especially for night works. The slower the shutter speed (ie low light) the more chance there is for blurring. Night shots really require a tripod or someone that has not consumed espresso in a few hours. :D
