Gotta small problem

Riding today, on the interstate no prior problems like this, all of a sudden the bike just killed. Wasn't too hot, kickstand switch wasn't engaged (that I know of), and nothing seemed to be unplugged or loose. Just got new sprockets and chain, doing oil change tomorrow. New spark plugs about 2 weeks ago, fuel line seems to be hooked up correctly, no leaks, with the exception of the counter sprocket seal, which I'm getting fixed once I get to Vegas. Needs carbs resynced, possible rejetting as well. Any ideas on the problems? It just died three times earlier, and then went to Clearwater and back, no problem, and then died twice more inside my community. Any ideas? I'd like to solve the problem before I leave on Saturday. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Potentially something in the gas, but I refueled 3 times from start to finish.

Re: Gotta small problem

could be anything, my bike was dying on me one night a couple times in 5 hours, the next night i couldnt go more than 20 feet without it dying. some how my wiring harness was fucked up and if the gas tank wasnt grounded to the frame the bike would die. it was fucked up **** too because my gas tank would spark when it did touch the frame I coulda went KABOOM. I replaced the harness bike was perfect.

Re: Gotta small problem

tough to say without doing some troubleshooting in person.

Nah it's never done anything like this before. The guy I bought the bike from had it set as a stunt bike, clipped the harness in a bunch of different spots, no turn signals, everything is rigged together. I figured that is more than likely the problem, but it's never done this before. **** it. I'll wait til I get to Vegas and then just get a new bike.

Re: Gotta small problem

I had the same issue on mine but it was random and it would also kill the lights on the bike sometimes, I would definatly take that harness and make sure its all good and not getting pinched anywhere or broken exposed wires

Yea I'll replace the harness when I get to Vegas, a harness I can get for like 80 on ebay, should be but maybe 4 or 5 hours worth of work.
