and i must vent a little, i got on i-4, and right at sandlake the traffic was STOPPED! so about a 1 1/2 hours later or so later i finally got to the champions gate exit where i found out that some dam yankee had a flat freakin tire that caused all this traffic. bastards!

In the morning I'll have the cage on it. I still need a chain and I have to talk my buddy into buying the inpact gun to take the front sprocket off.

 

breakerbar and a 2by4 through the rim on top of the swingarm, on my f4i a impact gun wouldnt work .

 

I did that. With one guy on the front seat, one guy on the rear seat, one guy holding the front end and two guys pulling up on a 5 foot pipe slid over a one foot breaker bar. The bike just lifted off the ground. That was with heat and PB blaster.

 

better get a good impact gun then.

 

what were you using a harbor freight impact? or did you just have a compressor that was no better than a midget blowing through a clogged garden hose?

 

snap-on 1/2 impact gun running off 2 huge compressors used to break loose rusted turbine wheel nuts. its pretty cereal machinory but the f4i laughed at it.

 

I know on the 636 you need the dewalt electric impact that semi shops use. I had the bigest one I could get between Sears and Home Depot, $400 i think it cost and we still had to take it to the semi shop. That thing just buzzed it rite off in two seconds. That was on a 07 but I hear 03 and up are all just as hard.

that's crazy! I never NEEDED to break out my snap-on 1/2" bc the IR 3/8" would always do the job. The only sprocket I ever really had trouble with even with the 1/2" was a Harley that had been red locktited...

 

anybody want to trade me a complete f4i front end plus cash for my 929/954 complete front end? nothings wrong with it i just like the stock front end more for catwalks not so much nose coasters though.

 

I may have not searched hard enough but I didn't find a dewalt electric impact that put out even CLOSE to the torque of the snap-on IM6500HP (the impact that I use)... Dewalt 3/4" electric: 345 ft/lbs... Snap-On IM6500HP 1/2": 650 ft/lbs...


I'm just sayin...

 

I might be ble to make that happen for you... let me know if no one bites...
