Go to your user cp, then you can click edit avatar, then "browse". From there you can click on any pic saved in your computer.

You could have brused or cracked it. If its bad it will take a minimum of 3 months to get better. I cracked mine and I swear it took 6 months to get back to normal. Stay away from weight lifting and laughing.
