there is no next video from me unfortunetely......im out of the stunt game i moved back to CT and im working at a advertising firm doing creative design....i decided i wanted to make a real living and stop chasing a hopeless dream....im not sure what you have against me man i get alot of hate from you and ive never done anything to you besides post up that i would offer free pics to SSB. im sure i will never see you again but if i do and you have anything to say to me id prefer you do it to my face and not on the internet cause ive never talked **** to anyone on here......and as far as bill goes me and him were real tight at one point but bill lets these stupid tricks run his life and **** with his head and him getting back with destiny and getting her in 2WT is a perfect example of that.......and dont be jelous cause my trailers are top notch.....if you wanna learn a thing or too about editing check out all my videos on:http://www.michaelpollackvisuals.com

alright, here we go...

actually, there was no hate intended in that question. i knew you and bill were pretty tight, or at least somewhat close...so your response to all of this surprised me. that was honestly all i was saying.

but...

since you went there, we can throw e-blows. i don't care. maybe the reason you have such a hard time "chasing the dream" as you put it is because you are not very good at making movies? learning how to use all of the effects in final cut does not an editor make. lets take a look at o-town throwdown.

did you intentionally overexpose the crap out of the whole video on purpose? your color balance is terrible and first year film students would eat you alive...did you never learn the term "crushing blacks"?

and how could you do a whole build up to the colton beach thing and then show one shot right after it (not even the best one), then cut to a shot of conrad in o town again? and then show another random shot of colton on the beach later on in the video? do you not know how to make a video flow, how to build meaningful segments?

and please stop doing interviews...the audio is terrible. could you not take some of the money you made from stuntshine state and buy a decent xlr mic if you knew you were gonna do interviews again? did you not learn the first time?

the only thing that saves throwdown is the riding...untouchable in terms of innovation...a year ago (you know, when throwdown was originally supposed to come out). now the az kids are killing almost everything in the vid...

the only time you think you get hate from me is when you "higher than thou" attitude takes over and i offer up a dose of reality medicine...honestly i really don't spend any time thinking about you or your endeavors...you don't rate that much to me.

the pic thing from before was you trying to hustle and step on other peoples toes...showing a huge lack of respect for people that have helped the industry grow and given people like you and me a chance to actually do something worthwhile, not just slang videos out of the backs of our cars.

yes your trailers are good, all the way from the ripped off hollywood soundtracks to the quick cuts showing gary, and then gary, and then more gary...but when you video is garbage its kind of misleading don't you think?

oh yeah, and on that note, way to try and ride gary's coattails instead of standing on your own two feet and building something good...

and the whole "say something to my face" deal...what are you twelve? you want to be one of the big kids then act like a big kid...please...

you are soooo right man.....i agree with everything you just said......yea i was riding garys coat tail cause i wanted to make a film that had all new tricks.....i dont play favorites....i told everyone in otown they could be in the video as much as they wanted if they busted new tricks......you know why so many amateurs show up in pro skate videos cause they are doing new tricks that the pros arent doing....and the pros get cut from the videos when they arent doing new tricks.....stunt videos are boring when there is a total of 20 tricks in the whole movies.....i dont care how many INTERSECTIONS are being murdered its the same tricks...same tricks...same tricks......rag on otown all you want but like 80 percent of the movie is new **** and thats the only thing i was aiming for and i accomplished that so your comments mean nothing to me......and read the otown thread alot of people enjoyed it.......and rag on my trailers to about how i use hollywood music your just jelous you didnt think of that first.......every trailer i have ever posted about half the people in the thread say its the best clip they have ever seen....so its funny how a fellow film maker will come on here and try and rag on my **** when everyone else likes it.....i try to make entertaining clips using whatever means possible so hate on me for that if you want......i just started a job making 70k yearly salary plus bonuses which is something you will never touch with whatever it is that you do plus i am doing alot of free lance work on the side.....i dont give a **** what you think you know you **** does not measure up to mine by any means except maybe your movies have better FLOW as you put it...but i got angles on you...i got graphic design and print work on you....i got photoshop on you.....i got web design on you.....i got t shirt designs on you....and i got still photography on you......so now what.....heres the proof....wheres yours? ps you have way to much time on your hands just look at your posts......try spending sometime making your **** look tight....i mean come on dude except for maybe the cover of intersection which i actually think is pretty tight the rest of your cover art on your dvds looks like a bootleg copy of something you buy in nyc from a crack head selling things on a blanket for 2 for $5

3. Maybe you should watch Intersection before you pass judgement, no one yet has said its boring and there are some new tricks in there and some retarded variations on some old ones.


yeah if you look around you will see the same comments from alot of the same people about any video or trailer posted up...

Mike, I really (and I can't stress the REALLY enough) don't care what you have or don't have. I don't care what you do. You getting upset is funny because you opened the door on this one. I was asking a legit question and now you are raising hell. I threw the gloves on for a minute but im done. To be honest I feel kind of bad about my first post now, it was very unprofessional on my part.

I could go round and round with you about all of the above listed items and we could get into a knock down drag out e-fight about the whole thing. But why? What would be the point? How about me and you agree to disagree and leave it at that?



Yes, my posts can get a tad bit long winded...so sue me for wanting to be clear and concise in what I say, i get my point across. and the funny thing about all of the DVD covers for all of my videos is the Intersection is the first one I have ever done myself (you know, the one you like).

SSI was done by Mini because that was a StuntRagz deal (and as a sidenote, Mini is one hell of a GD, been doing it for years as a profession and knows his ish).

The Addiction was done by a friend of mine who designs whole apparel lines for some companies. I ran his logo and he did all of the GD work for me in trade.

Phoenix Rising was mine too but that was a free video and a last minute deal, how much effort do you think went into that?

Like i said before, I would rather not continue this whole arguement but the choice is yours. i will defend any slander about me, my company, and my products but will no longer attack anything related to you or yours.

 

well im glad we both agree to stop it here then.....i guess i was defending myself and you were doing the same......i guess as a whole i just dont think this sport is going in the direction it COULD BE going in.....if you look at all the other sports that have gone from a bunch of hooligans to superstars aka skateboarding, snowboarding, fmx etc......they all started with underground dvds like we make and everyone is constantly stepping up their game in every video and its not so much the film makers that are steppin it up as it is the athletes.....i think too many stunters are trying to learn all the tricks everyone else is doing when there is a whole world of new tricks left out there that can be done as Gary and the AZ guys have recently showed everyone. i dont know i give up....or excuse me i gave up. dvd sales are way way way way down for a reason...people are getting bored of watching them.....how come people never got bored of watching skate videos and snowboard videos and many other kinds of videos....ill tell you why....cause they never bought a dvd that was really boring with all tricks that have been seen and done a million times before....every stunt film maker should really push to have alot of new material is my opinion.....streets are awesome and cool but this isnt 5 years ago when no one had seen this ****.


ps. i sold about 120 pre orders to 20 different countries out side of the us so i guess that says something........and i love bill d for the record and i should not have made my feelings about the article public.....SORRY BILL

 

this is a post i can agree with...

i think alot of why we sell so much less than other sports is two fold...

skating, bmx, non motorsports...look at the median age of the market you sell to there...10 to 20 years old maybe? not much to do when mom won't drive you to the spot but watch videos... i know i was one of these kids back in the day...(way back )...they eat it up and absolutely beg for more...its all about the kids...

motorsports...well you median market age is mid 20's and up...we have to almost be better than the guys throwing out skate and bmx vids to keep this age group interested...most people take the easy way out and either go extreme carnage (wreck videos, etc) or extreme *****...

a sidenote: i had a guy who wanted to dump alot of money into nascency a few years ago. met him while we were shooting in mexico, kinda sleazy but loaded right? so the guy tells me that in order for any video like these to sell we need a ton of t&a in it and if i was not willing to do that then he was not interested...well, you can see what route i chose...

and don't get me wrong, there is a place for *****, just not in the videos we make...

yes, we struggle. yes, sometimes we lose our asses. but the important thing is we keep going. i feel priveledged to be able to document to rise of a sport and the people involved, and i treat every video with this thought in mind.

mike you could do good things, i just think toning down the "best of the best" stuff and being a little more humble would help you more in the long run...thats all im saying...
