In VT (where I bought my 929) you sign the back of the title just like here in FL, except there are 2 more boxes where you can re-sell the bike without paying tax or registering the bike.

In FL, you apparently have to register and title (and pay tax) on a bike every time it changes ownership. So they won't accept my title even though it's completely legal in VT, AND i have a printed and signed VT bill of Sale. Still no dice. Even brought the bike so they could look at the Vin...

I hate the DMV.

Oh, and if they HAD let me register it (which they won't) I'm getting a sweet super-sized white and red license plate since I'm not 21 and FL likes to label their squids now.
