I was only there on Sun and noticed about three photogs standing near the closest wall. The rest of the people were pushed back to the pits. Who would you recommend I contact in order to be up close like the photogs I just mentioned? I'm a newb; I appreciate your patience.

 

i think you need a press pass but you can PM X-treem C or Todd Colbert for more info...

Here is my first set; many more to come. I dont know the names of everyone yet so please forgive the lack of any titles. The MX pics arent super sharp; need to bring longer lenses next time.

I'm using a D200 with Nikkor 50mm f/1.4 which in turn makes it about a 75mm due to the digital body. When the bikes were up close the shots came out great, far away CS2 had to be recruited.

 

is there any online tutorial on how to clear up picks using CS2?

 

There are tons of tutorials out there. One of the best sites ---> http://www.good-tutorials.com/ Using CS2 is sorta like stunting; the more you do it the better you get. The bottom line is that 10 MegaPix. really helps the overall shot in the long run. Hope this helps.
