King Of The South (florida Style)
Re: King Of The South (florida Style)
Well, lets just start it right here in this thread. If you are a judge, a rider or both, how would you have organized things to go?
If you're a judge, what do you judge on? Is there a list on how many stunts the rider does and how well he performs them (stoppies, acros, circles, straigh line combos, blah, blah, blah)....or is it general impression that you get from the rider (hyped crowd, style, enthusiasm, overall performance)? I know its freestyle and its hard to judge something that has virtually no rules, but is there anyway to organize this a little? How are skate and snowboard comps judged?
As for the rider, what would you like to be judged on?
My .02, I think we should be judged from both sides. The judges should be there because they are the best in the business. They know what a good trick looks like compared to a shitty one. They recognize the difficulty level of certain tricks and award points accordingly. I think there should also be a crowd portion for the score as well. This would get the crowd involved and show how the general public feels about the rider's performance.

as far as the crowd part of it .. Thats kindda hard.. Iv noticed most crowd's like acro's .. So you have a guy killin it the hole run and only throws in a few acro's crowed responce isnt that great..
What about everyone that is riding in the comp having judge cards? Like in a few comps iv seen in dirtbike freestyle jumping, and iv seen in a few skatboard comp's.. That way the judges judge but so do your peers?

I figured it would be 75% Judge and 25% crowd or something like that. Thought it would be a good way to get crowd involvement. I think that always makes for a good show no matter what you're doing. I also don't wanna see a rider get ****ed over because one or two of the judges don't like his personal style. I see people hating on acros, but some can be difficult (not talkin christs and skitchin), same goes for circles.
Definitely like the idea of the being judged by fellow riders. Ultimately thats who you wanna impress right?.....I mean along with the hot blonde in the front row. Seriously though, we all are trying to one up the guy next to us, why not just have him do the judging and vice versa.

People hating on acro's ... Its not really my thing .But i also want to learn them cause id like to be a well rounded rider! Not for compititions just for myself..
I go to comps to hang out with friends see people i dont get to see that often and have a good time ridin with everyone. So why not let us judge each other..
all ego's and drama aside and get back to the one thing we all have in common ---------> ( STUNTIN )
