I have the 929 m/c for my handbrake, and I use a raptor clutch perch. I had the same problem with the adjuster being in the way. I found that if I took the lock nut off the adjuster, the clutch works better (because the cable pivots in the perch), and I have alot more room to rotate my clutch lever down closer to the hb lever.
