Re: Datona Info.??

Whatya wanna know? Daytona is the biggest city for miles out that way.Your in volusia county, port orange, orange city, deland, deltona, sanford are all within a few minutes to half a hour of daytona. Your about a hour or less from orlando, 2 hours or so from tampa. What else do you need to know? Its a beach town, all the house's are beach type house's with small yards and mostly small house's till you get towards port orange.

Re: Daytona Info.??

I am trying to find a good spot to live for a bit. I have looked on line at lots of maps, and resurched the sorounding towns. So as far as Fam. income, taxes, local businesses, and so on I know. It is the good "insider" Info. I can't get, like if the W. side of Deland is like Compton, or the N. side of Oak Hill is Mill. $ homes... I will be renting, and would like a house, but an Appt. would be ok, as long as my car or bike will not get jacked.

Re: Datona Info.??

Edgewater is fairly inexpensive. New Smyrna Beach isnt bad either.
Oak Hilll is pretty trashy. Don't move to Port Orange unless you like old retirees and bored cops with nothing to do but stop bikes.

Re: Datona Info.??

The riding in Deland is sick, alot of open roads and alot less cops. But if you want to live in Daytona invest in a serious bike lock, and theft insurance. People are ******** around here. I known at least 15 people how have had bikes stolen around here!

Re: Datona Info.??

I realy don't care where I'm living, as long as I can walk to the store, and not get jumped... by any one I can't beat down... Any place close to Daytona or Daytona would be cool. How long have you lived in Daytona, J.H.?

Re: Datona Info.??

I have been going to school at Embry Riddle for two years. Daytona is a cool place to visit, but its kind of ghetto in some places. But keep one thing in mind, the location of your school should not have too much influence on what school you go to. I'm just lucky as an Aerospace Engineer major that Embry-Riddle is in Daytona.

Re: Datona Info.??

Now why would you think I was going to school? Well, I am planning on AMI, and that was the reason for Daytona... I just got off the Embry Riddle site, and it looks like a good school. As for the getto areas, what areas do I not want to live in? As for your RR what year is it? I just sold a 94RR.

Re: Datona Info.??

Its a 1994 with a 98 motor, Airtech fairing. Its got a whole bunch of other **** done to it, forged pistons, full two bros exhaust, powercommander, blah blah. For Living places, if your going to set up a place to live before you actually come down herelive in an apartment complex, a house would be nice but with out seeing it first there are not garuntees about the neighborhood. Lake Forest Apartments are nice, The Atrium is good. But I wouldnt live anywhere near MLK Jr. road or past Nova Rd going towards the beach. But deffinately invest in some bike security.

Re: Datona Info.??

I love the 94, and plan to buy my old one back, or get a new one when I get home. Did you put the 98 motor in your bike, and how was the fit? Do you know if the 94 is a little shorter in the wheels then the 98?
Funny about MLK, I grew up in S. Seattle, and lived at the end of MLK... I love that part of town, but I like living some other place... Thankx for the heads up
