Shopping around for a video camera and want to get some opinions on the following:

- Canon GL1 & GL2
- Sony DCR-VX1000 & DCR-VX2000

Which one and why ?

Re: Video Camera Question

Go with the Sony good quality and you can find just about any add on part to it. I have a TRV-25 and it is one of the best cameras I bought.

How did you get your hands on a $2000+ camera? Is there really much difference in the VX1000 & Vx2000?

Re: Video Camera Question

Definitely Sony. Canon's white balance is ***** (you can always spot Canon footage because it always has a very slight blue tint to it), it's predictive focusing's a joke and their back-up service is non-existent

Oh yeah, the tape transport is even less reliable that a politician's morals, too

Re: Video Camera Question

the vx1000 does not have an lcd screen, that's one of the biggest differences. the vx2000 is dope, very popular camera.
