Urban Streetbike Warriors Press Release
“URBAN STREET BIKE WARRIORS” CAPTURES TOP MOTORCYCLE CREWS RISKING THEIR
LIVES TO ACHIEVE MOST EXTREME STUNT ACTION EVER FILMED

LOS ANGELES, September 4, 2003 — “Urban Street Bike Warriors”, produced by
the infamous Stone Brothers directorial/production team and distributed by
Melee Entertainment (in conjunction with DreamWorks Records), captures the
extraordinary feats of what are widely considered the Top 10 street bike
crews in the world. Scheduled for release September 16, “Urban Street Bike
Warriors” showcases street bike crews such as 1096, Driving to Endanger and
Triple Extreme as members of these stunt bike crews vie with each other to
execute ever more elaborate ways to ride a motorcycle.
“What you’re going to see are guys on motorcycles doing things you think are
impossible. They’re taking this sport to a whole new level,” promises Drew
Stone of the DVD “Urban Street Bike Warriors”.
With Kottonmouth Kings and Garth Vader providing music, “Urban Street Bike
Warriors” offers viewers an inside look at the lifestyle behind the sport.
“My goal was to show it exactly as it is,” Stone attests. “Some of these
guys are really hard; there’s a scene with drugs and guns – we didn’t want
to shy away from any of it.”
Stone, who is partnered with brother Evan in their Stone Brothers operation,
acknowledges that they have a lot to live up to; “Urban Street Bike
Warriors” is their second foray into tracking extreme motorcycle sportsmen
across the freeways and back roads of America to document their
death-defying stunts. It follows the film “12 O’Clock,” also a winner of
multiple Xtremey Awards.
“’12 O’Clock’ broke a lot of ground. It’s considered a landmark film in
this genre,” Stone notes. “I’d heard about these crews going crazy on their
bikes, this wild scene where some of the riders were urban black guys and
some of them were suburban white kids, and I thought, ‘I have to film this.’
I knew it would be cool, but I had no idea the film would have the impact it
did.”
In fact, the success of “12 O’Clock” paved the way for “Urban Street Bike
Warriors.” Stone affirms: “After that, I had guys – the very best out
there – contacting me saying they wanted to be in the next film. I hooked
up with some of the crews on the Net, and then it was a matter of
coordinating it so we could catch them in action.” And these aspiring
extreme motorcycle champions did not disappoint. “It got to the point where
we’d show up somewhere and it was mayhem. It was bedlam,” Stone says.
“Everyone wanted to be in the film and show what they could do.”
Asked how he gained access to the inner circle of this dangerous and often
illegal sport, Stone explains: “The Stone brothers have a reputation for
keeping it in the street. For one thing, we come from a street background
ourselves. I’m basically one of these guys; I hang out with the crews and
consider them good friends. We respect each other. Plus, I had some
lunatic teenage years, and a lot of these people knew me from that. So they
trusted me, and trust is very important to these guys – if the situation
were different, there’s no way they’d let me film them.”
Despite his devotion to the sport, Stone feels no temptation to join a crew.
“I am not a stunt rider. It’s just too hazardous,” he says. Of course,
this through-the-roof danger level is exactly what makes “Urban Street Bike
Warriors” so compelling to watch. “You can’t even believe what these guys
can do. It’s unreal,” Stone insists. “And you definitely cannot take your
eyes off it.”

Negative, ONYX and Hazard. Evan Stone is an award-winning director whose
credits include MTV’s “Senseless Acts Of Video,” “MTV Sports Unlimited

Busey” and VH1’s “Born To Diva.” Evan has also been nominated as MTV’s

well it 's good to see hard work finally pay off. this is the kind of exposure & backing we need to get to help the sport become more mainstream. this is a verry good thing, with this it will be easier to sell our video's to major distributors, get noticed & soon to put more money into the pockets of the riders from sponsors.
looks like drew was badly quoted but you get the point on what he was saying. hollywood "dont believe the hype" get it!!!

cant emphasize enough how important it is to go out and pick up this vid even if you already have it. everyone always talks about bringing stuntriding to another level so do something when you can. could never say enough about how cool the stone brothers are or how much they have contributed to this sport. Spread the word.

this has been in the works since november of last year...unfortunately biker boyz being a flop didnt encourage the corporate types any. (i realize biker boyz has nothing to do with freestyle streetbike, but to them they think its basically the same thing
)
