ok, i'm still having problems editing video. I have my digital video camera and a firewire card. It wouldn't work realtime so i upgraded my computer: AMD 2200 computer 512meg ram, 30 gig 7200rmp drive with 8meg of cache....this thing is FAST.

Software: i have vegas 4.0, Ulead studio 7.0, and some stupid thing the camera came with. With ulead it cuts my sound off after 4 seconds on all my clips. I don't quite understand vegas 4.0 yet, it's really complex and i can't get simple things to work like fade in and out. I have the manual but it's a .pdf file and i don't have the viewer for that.

can anyone give me some tips on editing? thanks

 

i know quite a few things for editing with vegas 4.0. it seems really confusing at first, but once you get the basics, its real simple and you can do so much with it. as for the sound, i'd say just capture everything using vegas, i wouldn't even mess with ulead. i actually learned from baker and sclevela. they know a lot more than i do , so i'd say PM them. both cool *** cats.
