Upload (Camera to PC) ???

Can you upload a vid from a camera to a pc using just the USB ports or do you have to buy the firewire and use the DV plug?

you can use ....

ports from a analog (Slow transfer speeds...ie capture TV tuner card or sound card), USB(average) and firewire(Fast).

btw... your camera must have one of these above plugins to a PC to work. Its much easier to capture now these days.

Dazzle goes through the USB and all you need is the RCA jacks from you camera to plug in. Not top quality but it gets the job done

This camera has the USB - DV IN/OUT but not any RCA's...
I went and bought a firewire but it doesn't hook up to my friends computer...the other end fits the camera fine. I thought the firewire went from the camera's DV to the CPU's USB....is that right??? It looks like the computer has to have a firewire connection too...

I'm willing to just do it through the USB but I don't know how to start uploading it from the camera to the CPU???? There's a program that came with the camera but it doesn't have any kind of "Aquire" option or anything to pull the footage off the camera.
Fuggin sucks being a newb to this....LoL

is ur firewire card a PCI card? Depends on ur boys PC ...ie motherboard that might or might not have enough PCI slots. Most fools buy gateway or dell PC's and after 6 months their not smiling anymore...lol

well **** his cpu doesn't have the firewire card. Which is gay as hell b/c his cpu has a DVD burner. Now, how they hell do they expect you to get the footage to burn DVDs without the firewire card.....dumb bastids!!!!

I'm just gonna buy the card and put it in my box and I'll just upload it at mi casa. My cpu isn't badass or anything, prob gonna be pretty slow when I start editing but I don't care. It's something I wanna get into.

XP 1800+ 1.53ghz 90.00
768 meg of PC2700 ram 180.00

With a DELL 18 in flat lcd 1100.00

around $2400.00 built by me. Prices change weekly to cheaper. We can build something like this but faster now for about 1900.00 or so......or so!

-----------------------------

Just built / upgraded Darius' PC running an...

ASUS A7N8X deluxe board
XP 3000 Barton Core (2.17 ghz)
1.5 gigs of PC 2700 cosair CAS 2 ram with heat sinks
SATA (150) ((FAST)) 160 gigs drive

ATI 9800 128 meg DDR video card (Best on the market)

Umm any IDE hard drive will work in ur PC. You have one IDE cable open to add another hard drive. Simply buy one, but look for 7200 rpm with an 8 meg cache and whatever size ur needing.

Man we killed this post....at least we can do is help the guy out...hope he got it if not then let us know so we can do our best to help.
