girlie wheelies
girlie wheelies
constructive criticism is welcomed but don't bag on me too bad or i might cry myself to sleep at night..
the first vid is from 2 months ago in NM, the 2nd and 3rd videos are from today.. I'm trying to slow it down as much as i can and trying to get the bike at bp and keep it at balance point. i'm basically just playing with the rear brake but i know, i know.. i need to lean back a lil further! easier said than done lol but i'm gonna keep practicing until i get it dangit!
sucks though because my new spot is suuuuper small/short so as soon as i get comfortable i have to set the bike down bc i run outa room! (anyone wanna tell me where their good so-cal spots are?? *hint hint, wink wink*)
video 1: months ago in NewMexico...

Re: girlie wheelies
i think the short lot is good , it forces you to get the bike to balance point right away and that is what you want to do any way ...
keep up the good work it looks like you are grasping the concept

Re: girlie wheelies
looking good. are you running stock sprockets? just curious cause it appeared like the bike was moving fast for not sounding like too high of rpms. either way
Looks like you'll have it down soon.

Re: girlie wheelies
your clutch up is clean. you gotta roll on the the throttle a bit more once ur up instead of blipping it, like instead of just tapping the throttle and trying to tap tap tap it back...rolll the throttle looong and smooth while being light on the brake untill you hear the bike start to bog then roll the throttle off and start tapping the brake. looking real good tho and +1 on what omr said, the short lots will force you to learn faster
Re: girlie wheelies
Hey...
looks good...
Just keep practicing you'll get it! Weird, but your gix sounds like it's whistleing or something in the one vid, you rockin a turbo on it?
LOL
Anyhow, just a couple pointers from a fellow squid! LOL
Get the front back a little higher, and try to get it right there at the clutch up... Honestly, I was surprised after hearing everyone beat it into my head so much about the importance of the rear brake at how LITTLE I actually am using it! My problem was always steppin on it too much, or too hard and killin it with the rear brake... that and I maybe rode 20 times this summer TOTAL and now it's in the 30's!!
oh, and is your idle turned up at all? And doesn't Son help you out??

i had major lead-foot! haha i used to mouse trap all day.. it was funny stuff. but after watching these vids i definately noticed that i'm not leaning back far enoughyour clutch up is clean. you gotta roll on the the throttle a bit more once ur up instead of blipping it, like instead of just tapping the throttle and trying to tap tap tap it back...rolll the throttle looong and smooth while being light on the brake untill you hear the bike start to bog then roll the throttle off and start tapping the brake. looking real good tho and +1 on what omr said, the short lots will force you to learn faster

yea i turned my idle up (idk to what though because i don't have a tack).. i just go by sound and how fast it feels in 1st gear with no throttle. son helps me when i ask specific questions but i think he doesn't like to criticize me and is usually in his own little world practicing circle combos..
Re: girlie wheelies
LOL Roger! LOL
yea.. I have actually heard that before... I noticed that when Josh Clem got on that New Yamaha, it sounds like a jet is landing everytime he starts it and takes off too...
weird... My K6 doesn't sound like that at all, but I have signature Hotlanta style underbike exhaust that is loud as hell too.. LOL.
And I put some 210 mixed in with my 91 octane once when my bike was in street clothes also... about 1 to 1 ratio.... It didn't have as profound of an effect as it did with my Aprilia RSV Mille. It made THAt bike scream! it actually made 3rd gear clutch ups and power wheelies comin out of 2nd gear corners an easy thing!! And it smelled good and turned my pipe white!
No whiney sound tho...
The video helps you critique your own technique pretty good doesn't it? I'm no expert or anything at all here either, but I was going to say also to try and keep your arms stiff and legs straight too and it'll force you to lean back more... I had that problem too when I first started on my motard from the pit bike.... it was a mental block is all.. hell....
It's all just a mind game if you ask me... like bowhunting, it's 50% mental, 10% physical, 30% repitition, and 10% equipment IMO.... you're well on your way and you got weather on your side where you live!! Take advantage of it and you'll pass guys like me up by the end of winter if you keep it up!LOL

Re: girlie wheelies
Just need to clutch it up higher initially.. You can do it.> THis guy that came out here yesterday did the same thing you did... By the end of the day he was doing foot on seat idle pretty good and starting to recon around to the right
