Attention Everyone With Footage!!!
Hey, I've started my own production company www.onewheelproductions.com (don't mind the lack of website material i made it in about 20 mins two nights ago)
But I'm trying to get some footage together... if anyone has self footage (not off of a digital still camera or cellphone) you want to let me have for for the dvd i'll give you a copy at the cost of shipping when it's done if it's used! I'm hoping to get it done by late fall this year. Please help! If you can, e-mail me some footage to got_ink123@yahoo.com Thanks!

y's everyone always gotta be negative... if u don't like the deal then don't do it. I just figured maybe there were a few heads here that would like to throw some **** up for a dvd and get a copy... copy the one i send out and resell it i don't give a ****... Theres noone in my area that stunts therefore i have a horrible lack of potential footage... i only know of a handfull of people an hour away from here. I'm not asking for sponsored people who pay to have their video done... just simply someone who has a camcorder and some half decent footage. Stunt riding is a no profit industry for 90% of the people in it... therefore it's a little hard for me to get a sponsor to pay people for their footage. bottom line if you don't want to help me then fine no big deal... but please try to refrain from wasting time trashing me. I mean newbies come hear to learn and get turned off from the sport cause everyone jumps on them because they don't know anything or asked a dumb question... that's the reason this **** hasn't blown up and gone mainstream everytime someone has an interest or a question everyone talks **** and the people give up on it lol
Re: Attention Everyone With Footage!!!
relax man. people aren't so quick to give just 'anybody' footage of themselves just to be on the safe side. And the ones that will give it up are the ones only doing 100+ wheelies on the highway, get it? You have to come at it a little better than this. Oh, maybe try the 'other' site. Plenty of squids there too...lol

hey I totally understand that, I'd rather just have someone tell me know rather than flame me. I've been working in the broadcasting industry for a while now, so I knew i wasn't going to get much footage. I just didn't expect to get flamed I just figured if they didn't want to hook it up they would move on lol. I'm not trying to get a whole dvd's worth of footage just enough to make a 10 min segment if that...
a little education maybe?
1. you are not the first or last person to start a thread like this. not too long ago there were people who did exactly what you are doing and lots of people sent them footage...and they got burned, bad. this makes them VERY suspect whenever anyone comes around asking for footage in the way that you are.
2. you are arguing with people on stuntlife...people that live to argue...thats why they are here and not out doing something else...what did you expect?
3. most of the people who you would want footage from have put a considerable amount of money into getting that footage (as stated in the other thread)...we can make more selling footage to larger outlets than giving it away and maybe, maybe recoup some of that expense. like the old saying goes, "you gotta spend money to make money."
4. most of us that are actively collecting footage are doing so for ongoing projects...i.e. - we are not going to give that footage to anyone...
im not trying to come across like a dick, so if i am i apologize up front...but...but...you gotta know some of the history in a question like the one you are asking and if you want to get your name known and get out there and do what you love you gotta be ready to sacrifice everything for it...otherwise don't even bother...

Re: Attention Everyone With Footage!!!
I'm out 10$ for shipping a mini dv tape to Alaska, but we have MUCH doper footage from from over the summer/fall anyway.
Re: Attention Everyone With Footage!!!
I don't think you're coming off like a dick at all... you like mr. nick apex are the only one's giving any valuable advice. I as rebuttal didn't mean like professional footage, I just meant like videos from practice sessions that had some substancial context in them. I'm not trying to burn anyone, but then again I guess noone knows that. Just like I've gotten rights to indie bands for their music in extange for the publicity they'll get in the video.. if anyone watches it lol. But I gave the company permission to dup and sell off my master at full profit to get my name out and to cover expense for using their songs for free. Thats why I was saying take a copy when it's done and dub and sell it to get some money out of it. If you sell 5 at 10bucks a pop i'm sure you're $47 profit after 5 blank dvdrs and 5 photocopies of dvd jackets will cover the 4mins of footage from a pratice session? ya kno. I should have knew i'd be opening up for flaming... it's a shame such excellent riders will spend more time flaming on a fourm that honing their skills.
you want some footage from people...lots, practice, whatever...not the highest quality but decent...i can dig so far...
then you say that you are going to make this "demo" video...and have given another company carte blanche to take your work (and other peoples footage) and do with it as they please???
to me, (and, yes, im a picky sumabitch) this is bad news...lets play this out real quick. lets say you make a video, a decent first run but not something you would push hard for retail sale yourself. now, since company A has been given the right do do with it as they please and have absolutely no knowledge of the stunt world, they think it is the best thing since sliced bread.
they use their connections to put this "demo" video into all kinds of stores all over the country. good yes? no. if your video is that good then you just pissed away any profit for yourself that would ultimately lead to your self stated final goal of doing what you love. and if your video is bad then you have just unknowingly shut many doors for people with much better videos to grow the stunt dvd market. to me this seems like a lose, lose situation.
getting your name out is not as important as getting your name in the right peoples ears...think about it.
i guess all that i am saying is to think about what you do before you do it. if you are truly serious about this then maybe the best thing for you is to do like apex said and get this vid together, and then post up the sections online. post up web versions and hi rez downloads if you are concerned with the image quality. let people see your work first, if you have quality people will see that and you will be able to grow and reach your final goal.
if you think making a video or two is gonna make your wildest dreams come true...whoa, you got another thing coming. this is one of the hardest things you could get into to try and make some major cash at. and as i said before, you seem fairly smart so you probably already know this, it just needed to be stated...
you have to be very careful how you handle stuff because if you make the wrong moves then you will shut yourself out from the group of people who you had the best intentions for but not the most forethought or follow through...dig?
wow, i gotta ease up on this whole 6AM coffee thing...damn...
