I got a touch of coaster envy.... along with circle envy. Why did summer have to end? We were working so hard on our new KC's Finest video called Barbecue Sauce, where we just get stoned and eat barbecue all day!!

and yes, i was 5th gear on a gixxer 750, i was moving pretty good.

the f4i i'm getting further though. at stuntjams me and taber from midwest mayhem were both getting the 1/4 mile. starting on the rundown going onto the track, making it to the christmas tree. the comp sucked the next day cause they switched our area and changed the runup to 100foot and into the wind. the track was super slippery and bumpy where they had us compete. taber won it with around 600 something foot.

there is a short SS coaster. couple hundred feet, second gear.

and from the vids, just doing an estimate time i got right at 8 seconds of coast for your video and 14 seconds of coast on mine. and it was in 5th gear even though i marked it wrong on the myspace label as 4th gear.

I've done 4th gear on the e-way, but not a place to be able to measure it off. 4th gear coasters leave my a-hole puckered for awhile!!! lol

If I remember right, that vid was top of second gear with +1/+24 (17/70), no clue how fast that was.

 

they are fun....wait til you click 5th. it's pretty wicked the first few hundred feet at that speed. you gotta be balanced good side to side, for some reason at that speed when you grab the clutch it tends to pick up a nasty speed wobble if you disturb the bike at all.

ya.....5th gear right now is gonna be used for cruising I haven't had the bike above 3rd gear in a long time!

When I was settin back 4th gear coasters on the interstate it was sketchy like you're talkin bout. The cheater peg seemed to make it easier to control tho so it didn't get too unruly on me.

Next summer I might have to try some 5th gear coasters......in full gear, with bubble wrap underneath!

 

ya, i probably had another 15-20mph behind me but that huge ditch would have taken me down.


ya, they are awsome but get nasty fast. i took one down in 4th gear and my body slid the full 1000foot, seemed like i was never going to stop.

to get the really crazy distance you gotta use that 40psi on the rear tire, then it's only a matter pure luck that it doesn't wobble and take you out.

 

binder, you dont have **** on me. i can do a coaster for like 10 yards.

ya i guess its just like all the other ****....practice, practice, practice. i always end up using too much brake about 10 yards into the coaster. but i dont practice them very much either!

 

coasters are like endoes....very dangerous, yet very addictive. Once you catch the bug for either one, its all over, you'll just push yourself farther and farther until you get hurt doing one or both of em. I flipped an endo and it hampered my progress in those since I got hurt, I flipped a coaster and didnt get hurt, just fixed my bike and kept doin em! LOL
