I encode my .avi videos into....(AVI is raw data uncompressed and when I encode it to .wmv its at its highest quality)

1Mpbs rate (High quailty, decent size, but could encode it at 512 and the size of the file would be smaller)

Audio: 64 Kbps, 44,100 Hz, Stereo.
Video: 30 fps, 320x240, WMV V8 Compression. or WMV V9 Compression.

My Sony TRV is 500 lines of resolution with 1 ccd for color. Transferred by firewire to the PC.

I choose .wmv because most PC's have windows media player and if they don't then they can download it from MS. Videos are small in size and the codecs are on most PC's.

Hope this helps
