Anyone been through OCS
Anyone been through OCS
Just wondering if anyone here has gone through OCS-I am in it now-just our pre-OCS before I go of to Alabama for 8 weeks of the accelerated program. I am in the guard so i don't get to do the whole Ft.Benning thing. Wondering if you had any good stories or tips.
don't worry, i have seen bad officers and also i have seen one of the best (my dad) so i have a good role model to go by and trust me i am not gonna be one of those new LT's that comes in and thinks i know everything. It takes 10+ yrs to make an platoon SGT, but it takes 1-2 yrs to make an LT.
exactly, Im going to OCS ASAP....pay scale alone, you're nuts to spend 20 yrs of your life being an E with crap pay... my brother went thru CG OCS tho, said it was 10x harder than his boot camp, but thats coast guard, so...
If you plan on going good luck and best wishes. Going through OCS is not about the money-yeah it is nice to have more pay, but that is one of the worst reasons to go through it. Here we have to go before a board to get in, and if anyone gives money as one of their main reasons-they are not sent. It is hard as hell and you have to have a way better reason than money to have the will to get through it, it has to be in your heart. We have already had 5 people from my class drop and we are just in the 0 phase. They tear you apart 500 times worse than basic does. It is probably one of the hardest schools to go through-not counting like ranger school, SF and those estreme things. I hope you do get the chance to go and i wish you only success.
good luck when you go before the board. i had alot of friends that did ROTC-in fact my LT did-she loved it. I almost went aviation-but i can't fly
so instead i am branching chemical. When you become a pilot take me up some time with you Please!!!!!!
