Joining the service while on probation

I am wondering if any of you have signed up for the service while on probation? Mine is nothing major 'evading arrest', but it is a felony probation. I figure i could at least go talk to a recruiter, but thatd be too much effort if its not worth my time at all.

I think if you send a motion to the judge, he may cut your probation time if you plan on joining the service.
ask your lawyer!

All depends who you talk too... The army, navy, and airforce will take you. The Marine corps more than likely wont, we have all kinds of requirments to meet now a days.
The latest and greatest is if you have Tattoos thats a reason to disqualify you. Whats our services coming too.

Were you adjudicated or was adjudication withheld? I had a felony conviction but I told the judge that I wanted to go in to the Air Force so he withheld my adjudication (which means it won't go on my record as a felony. Basically I was found guilty but never convicted yet still served a sentence) and then placed me on probation for 6 months. I went to talk to a recruiter and the recruiter said he can not talk with me till I have completed my probation and I could not officially join for 90 days prior to completing probation. Usually they can get things moving for you so you can leave exactly 90 days out. Good suggestion though about writing a plea to the judge. If he feels you are serious about military service, he may be willing to reduce or commute. Chances are though, with a felony conviction, judicated or not, you will require a waiver for most jobs and be completely disqualified for others. Still worth it though, if you are serious. Most great endeavors require a tough process, that’s what makes them great!

Any judge will drop it. I would bet money on it. What service do you want and where do you live. I know a bunch of recruiters around the world.

True, the Marines WILL NOT take anyone with even one felony, I believe the Army will take up to two felonies and everyone else is one. I think.
