these were the first pair i made.. i actually went through $75 in titanium to make these and mad hours welding and cutting and trying out different designs..so $75 is my minimum..a friend of mine just told me he'd follow it to $75

I need a set, don't care if it's steel, titanium, or whatever, just so long as I can slid on them and it doesn't tear up my shoes

I'll help anyone that wants to make em..
I used .030''(thick as a dime) Titanium -
to BEND it: heat it up with a propane torch til it just turns orange and bend it in a vice. If I would do it again, I'd use thicker titanium.. maybe .060''. it bends easy with heat... its impossible without.
to CUT it: I think a torch cuts it easiest.. a saw takes a while
I paid $75 for 4ft x 1ft.. they sell smaller peices on ebay under 'titanium plates'
-my major issue was making sure the instep area is free and clear
-dont make it flat, put a curve to the bottom so you dont wear the same section all the time.
