I've had the occasional "my friend / DTE" conversation. I don't know how many times while pumping gas, someone walks up to me, notices the DTE logo on my windscreen, and proceeds to tell me his friend rides for DTE. I usually ask the kid who his friend is and I have no friggin clue who the kid is talking about. I then proceed to tell this kid I co-created DTE, yada, yada, yada.... of course, he doesn't believe me. The conversation usually ends with him walking away telling his buddies (who are in the car with him) that I am a fat liar. WTF is that?

I hear more people saying the know someone who rides for DTE, I've even heard people say "yeah, I used to ride for DTE." Everyone wants a peice of the glory. Some of it may stem out from the mob of people that go on the road with you. Go to an event with a DTE shirt on or hang with them and BAM everyone thinks you're a rider.
