Re: What are y'all doing about expensive gas?

Turning my car off going down hills and slowing down, then I pop the clutch and it starts back up. Apparently some guy in a prius did this simple technique and got close to 100mpg. Suppose depends on what roads and such but I have noticed a couple mpg grain in my Subaru WRX.

Re: What are y'all doing about expensive gas?

If you don't want to shut it off you can just put it neutral and coast.
Back in highschool I would do that all the time. No hills around here, but I'd just coast up to every stop sign or light I came to. Thats back when I'd often only put a dollar or so worth gas in the car because all I had was a handfull of change.
