Conversion

How to convert from cross to SM? is it only putting street wheels from some bike or is there alot more ****ing with it? Basicaly I need a "How to?"

17 inch street tires wrapped around excel wheels with either excel hubs or talon hubs, connected with thick stainless steel spokes.

Big *** break rotor, 320mm and a 4 pot caliper. Full size streetbike front master cylinder too.

You can buy kits or fab a 600/liter class front caliper onto your hub/ring

HANDGUARDS for your hands/levers! Super important.

where do you get 17" rims that fit? and are those tubed since there are spokes?

Most people use Excel Rims with excel or talon hubs:

You'll still need tubes unless you buy a tubeless kit which uses wrapping tape and special valve stem for sealing.

yep that's how my 650's setup... Excel Takasago's with stock hubs

so do you use 3.5" wide on the front and 4.5" wide on the rear?

Front is 3.5 and the rear is 4.25. Running a 120/60 on the front and a 160/60 on the rear. Rear tire rubs the 520 chain just slightly
