The 16x18 with a junction valve sucks and will not work with the small caliper on your bike. I put a 16x18 I had laying around on my YZ450 and it took 4 fingers just to feel the brake working. You need the 1/2" Nissan master that Ryan Moore sells. After I put the 1/2" Nissan on I was able to use one finger on the handbrake.

Re: 16x18 on drz???

adapters on these stock SM's are garbage. the MC will be too large for the small stock rear caliper, even with a 1/2 bore, it will still prob be a 2-3 finger no lock up. the best option is a dual cal set up or a upgrading your stock rear brake with a braking, brembo, magura, ebc....ect big brake kit for the rear and then use a adapter set up (then it should work similar to a adaptor on a sportbike).

i had an adapter on my old 03 cr250 SM (tony's old 2 stroke motard) with stock rear brake set up and a 1/2 nissin. and it was GARBAGE, 3-4 fingers barley slowed me down
(and yes im sure ever all the air was out of the MC, lines, caliper, and adapter)
hope this helps

i have a full throttle dual caliper that uses the 636 rear caliper as the HB.
im using a 05+ R6/R1 radial MC. i works good, but more of and on and off feeling. i think it needs to be rebleed, because im not getting single fingler lock up.
i want to try out a 13mm magura.

Re: 16x18 on drz???

im thinkin a 13mm magura might be my cup of tea. i want a lot of feel so i can be smooth with the brake. i had a 08 600rr master on my 636 witth the fti dual quad set up and i didnt care much for it. i wanted more feel.
