Anyone ride fixed gear?
Anyone ride fixed gear?
I've got a fixed gear road bike (IRO) and was wondering if anyone here rode FG? Surely theres got to be some guys/gals out there doing stunts on FG road and mtbs.
I can't even get a trackstand down because of the geometery of the bike and some chain slack making things unsmooth. I do run a front brake because I commute on it, but I haven't really tried to do endos. I've gone backwards for a little bit, but I'm still hestitant about turning backwards, its just so damn ackward.
Hopefully I'll keep practicing and get better.
Here's mine (I was adjusting seat and post, disregard the position):

I was thinkin abt it and thought that ur tires are extremly thin.....its gonna be hard as hell to pull wheelies if u have thought of doin tht.
But as i said if u can pull it off and become good at it then its gonne be somthin awesome :YEAH

Re: Anyone ride fixed gear?
I run a brake because I do a lot of suburban/city riding... people without brakes think filtering, running intersections, etc is safe or cool but all it does is hurt every other rider that obeys the law. Cagers hate cyclists because of twits that do this:http://www.mashsf.com/videos/travis.mov
^classic skidding/skipping ...everytime his legs stop, the rear tire is skidding and you can also hear the camera-bike's tires skidding
There are quite a bit of fixed gear style stunts, and then some general to bicycles and then even some general to all 2 wheel vehicles.

^some fixed gear leg/foot work'

^a bit of fixed gear tricks... I don't know the culture name for them but include leg over handlebar skid circle, another leg over skid, no handed circle bunny hop trackstand, classic no handed skid lighting cigarette, and basic wheelie
I'll post up more videos from youtube/google tonight, I can't view them at work.
