F4i clutch arm mod... weld-less version.
Re: F4i clutch arm mod... weld-less version.
This thought went through my mind too... until I felt how tight these bolts fit... + the red locktite.
The 6mm bolts are slightly too big for the 11/64 (**** i don't remember the exact size?) holes i drilled.
I'll be checking them daily just to be safe.
This would probably work.... if not too tall.

Re: F4i clutch arm mod... weld-less version.
Tried it out today w/ a stock ASV lever.... felt as easy if not easier then a moose or MSR on the easy hole.
I'm actually gonna mount up the easy pull lever tomorrow just for ***** and giggles.
Unbelievable what a tiny little adjustment in the right place will do. :YEAH

Re: F4i clutch arm mod... weld-less version.
over kill if you ask me and you will probably have to pull it all the way to the bar to get it to release and if you adjust it so you don't have to pull it to the bar then you will probably have the cable too tight
Re: F4i clutch arm mod... weld-less version.
It's like pulling air. Middle setting on MSR=just a **** hair easier to pull. That's the money setting with this mod.
Re: F4i clutch arm mod... weld-less version.
it's not really a matter of right and wrong, it will pull easier with both but the same feel can be had just by making the arm longer ...
what im saying is if you make the arm too long you will run out of adjustment and adding the ez pull can cause the same thing because both the mod and the ez pull decrease the amount of pressure needed to pull in the lever by increasing how far the lever needs to be pulled ...
so on an f4i with the arm just 10mm longer yes the easy pull would probably be fine as long as it isn't on the easiest setting but if you add 3/4 of an inch or more then the easy pull will need to be pulled all the way to the bar to get the clutch to release and the cable would probably need to be adjusted too tight and could cause your clutch to sleep in certain situations...

Re: F4i clutch arm mod... weld-less version.
1/2 inch mod + easy pull on middle setting =3/4 inch mod
3/4 inch mod + easy pull on middle setting = pulling lever to the bar and an over adjusted cable.....
Re: F4i clutch arm mod... weld-less version.
that works it's just that the easy pulls all break way to easy and they tend to fray cables ,the mod will never break specially if you weld it....

Re: F4i clutch arm mod... weld-less version.
10mm is the max on an f4i when you weld it but the way it was done on thew first page of this thread you can get more .....
Re: F4i clutch arm mod... weld-less version.
mines welded out 3/4" or so and I'm not sure what my MSR is adjusted at, but I haven't had any slip problems yet......I'll prolly look under there and see what setting its on. All I know is, the way it is right now...I dont see myself going without it its so perfect.
Re: F4i clutch arm mod... weld-less version.
it kinda doesnt fit.....when I pull my clutch cover off and put it back on I have to pry my clutch arm up or down and with a lil twist to get it to just barely scrape past the frame. Its prolly not the most recommended way to lengthen it, but since I only pull my clutch cover if theres a problem it doesn't bother me much....BUT I was annoyed with it when I had to pull the cover off a couple times in a week last year!
Re: F4i clutch arm mod... weld-less version.
and isn't there a setting on th emsr that is the same as stock ?
kj raised his so he has more room
