I've always been active, good controll, and good A1c's. So there was really no need for one but, now I'm just running out of sites that dont have scar tissue so it's a comfort thing..

Re: Any other Diabetic Stunters?

Diabetes Type 1 is the ideopathic form.....Type 2 Diabetes/Diabetes Mellitus/Adult-Onset Diabetes is what your thinking about as far as being overweight and getting it when you're overweight and eat whatever you want all the time. In type 1 its like you have a pancreas problem, in Type 2...your receptors for insulin are the problem.

Regardless if you take care of yourself, eyesight begins deteriorating after 25 of diagnosis, so be prepared for glasses if you dont already have em, or a stronger script if you do already have em. Its called Diabetic Retinopathy.

For diabetics it is crucial to watch your diet, take your shots if/when you need them, and monitor yourself very closely.

just a lil FYI info.....

...good to hear you're taking care of yourself and alot better. As long as you stay on top of it you'll do fine, but that one day you forget to check and think you'll be fine while riding could bite you in the ***. Educate you buddies on how to help if you pass out or slip into a Diabetic Coma. We knew what to do when my grandfather was going thru it before he passed away, we all knew how to check his blood sugar and all that once he got alzheimers because he never woulda remembered.

<Type 1 diabetic here (shots)
hello from ireland.I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes about 11 years ago.Their is a history of it in my family. At the beginning it was shitty and it took a LOT of getting used to because I was only 8 years old at the time.Insulin injections and healthy eating were the last things on my mind but as time went on it became second nature.Diabetes if anything has made me a better person.I live a very healthy lifestyle and I eat healthy food. The way I look at it is things could be a whole lot worse.I consider myself lucky.I always make sure I have something eaten before I goe driving and I have never had any problems.don't worry about it and best of luck with it.
