636 safety sleeve (fork) and seal replacement
Re: 636 safety sleeve (fork) and seal replacement
i have been riding my bike for a month now after sending the forks to bill at FT for the sleeves, when he first sent them back they had a really heavy oil in um and one of the guys helping him ripped one of the seals so i had to send them back but he put in a factory weight oil in them the second time because i am only 150lbs and dont need um that stiff anyhow, i cant really tell with the weight and sometimes they do feel stiff when coming down from a spreader or suntin but i have rolled a shitload of good stoppies and they feel just fine. and for the trouble of having to send them back the second time, bill paid for the shipping and threw in a hoody for me as well. great customer service.

bro, its a rare thing for something to happen, kinda like getting in a plane crash.......i learnt stoppies for 2 years on my first 04 and never had any issues and now on my new 04 stock forks going WAYYYYYYYYY further then ull ever go and NO PROBLEMS!!!! soo dont bother unless ur bike has 1000000 miles on it and u never changed the seals or wat not!!!

wait wait... whats wayyyyyyyyy further then ill ever go?! hmmm?
Re: 636 safety sleeve (fork) and seal replacement
i dont think its so much as changing the seals, as it is someone having blown seals and running the forks dry.... or overall just beating the hell out of them. I jump curbs, lawns, small children and woodland creatures on a daily basis, and my forks make more noise than that time you hit it with ur best friends little sister. I finally ponied up, and scored a set of 06 forks for 125$ shipped off ebay.... the deals are out there... just gotta be looking for them. These were on ebay for like 16minutes before i hit up the Buy-it-now
Re: 636 safety sleeve (fork) and seal replacement
just swap them up for some 05+
plus the silver ones look tight as **** instead of the gold tubing
and itll be the same cost as getting that fork sleeve done
