cruise control
my only isssue with long rides is my right hand cramping up or going numb. i cant seem to finde any kind of cruise control devices for sportbikes. my dad has one on his vstar that just clams to the throtle tube, but it doesnt look like it would work on a sportbike. anyone have one or know where i could find them?

I have one on my R1. It is a little pricey, but works pretty good. It looks like a bar end.

All the idle cable is for us is essentially a throttle lock. I use it for idle tricks and what not, but for you, it could be your highway throttle lock.
If i click my f4i into 6th and crank on the idle cable up, it is essentially a throttle lock, and I can cruise at any given RPM. And it is only $10.

Re: cruise control
i want something a little easier and quicker to dissengage. the cable could work but at 70 or 80 mph stuff happens to fast to be twisting a cable around and around

Here are some others that I had looked at before I bought the throttlemeister. They are cheaper, and I don't know how reliable. NEP and Vista Cruise.

Re: cruise control
I recently went to alaska from texas and I didnt have any lock at all but my dad used an o-ring inbetween the bar end and the grip. It wedges in there and you can still close the throttle without having to disengage a lock. We were averaging 700 a day and it didnt wear out or move any so it works real well.

Re: cruise control
i've got a 03 R6 and with a bit of grinding to it i fit a Vista Cruise onto my clipon, but i did have to put a shitload of lock tite on my bar end and only tighten it about 1/2 way to extend my clipon another 3/4 inch, but its a little sketchy cuz it can vibreate loose at hight revs and it does make the throttle stick a little......but in the end i would not recomend it to ne1 its really justa wast of $50 ....go get a rist assist...like a throttle rocker
