whoolies

Just trying to get some advise on what to work on, I picked up a stunted f4i from a cat on here, I have no experience on 50d's or wheelers exct. I have owned a bunch of gsx-r's but all modded up. I have been out on the bike about a dozen times 30-60mins a trip at a stop I found. I can ride the wheelie out on the street if I have momentum, however im trying to pop the bike from a near stop 2nd gear with a 65tooth i can get to the balance point easily but struggling to figure out what to do then? I have played with the brake/throttle but not really finding the rythm. I set the idle back to stock, the guy I got it from had it at 3k never tried it at that.
I have seem some threads on here about getting a 50'd to paly on first them switch the the big bike? thoughts? yeas im a squid, gotta start somewhere

Re: whoolies

if you can do smooth wheelies with just the throttle then start hitting the rear brake while your up just to see what it does and then when your used to using it start dropping back a little and saving it with the break ...

Smooth wheelies meaning? I can clutch it up and ride out in 2nd on the street. how fast are you talking here, my boys trying to clutch the bike up from a near stop then gas it out and take off? Try slowing the fast ones?

Re: whoolies

I wouldn't admit myself to watching a video to learn, but it doesn't hurt to learn the correct form of what to, and what not to do before going out. If your a beginner it actually explains everything pretty well.

Re: whoolies

For one why are you clutchin the bike up in second if your in a lot??? What ever happend to first gear?? ... An never increase speed in a lot cause your just gonna get to the other side faster and have to time for braking room an your gonna crash !! .... Clutch it straight up it might feel like your 12 o clock but chances are your not .. Once you get it back far enough you won't need to increase if your idle is set ...try 2 first cause 3 is to much if your learnin you'll loop it quick! You'll know when you got it and cover your rear brake ppl don't stress that enough its a must

if you are smooth on the street and can do a nice long wheelie then try hitting the brake a little while your doing it and yes you should be able to slow a fast wheelie down just by dropping in very little at a time after you get used to using the rear brake...

now with that said don't go out there and do an 80 mph wheelie holding down the brake the whole time cause you will boil your brake fluid and then have no brake ....

I see what your saying. The last 2 days I have been playing with the rear brake but my bike has 2 rear calipers and its hella touchy, at first I was dropping them instantly. Now it seems to be working but very slowly. Is this more for wheelie control or brake reaction? or both?
