i was leaning towards putting db bars on my RR, but just realized before bidding on some clamps that my triple tree isn't flat like the 03-04 models, it has the bump in the middle similair to the 954 setup. so i'm wondering, how am i gonna mount bars on there? short of getting a custom triple, not sure what other options i got. anyone who's done this let us know what you got/how you did it

also, is the triple the right size for the 05? cause the 03-04's are a 46 mm tree if i'm not mistaken, while the 05-06's are 48 mm.

 

if the neck bolt will fit i know you can use the clamp ... its just like putting forks on just get a flat head space it out a lil and then tightin

ok so this is how my bars are mounted...they drilled 2 holes thru the tripple right where it slants and just mounted the risers like that..their held down with the pretty big allen bolts

 

screw dirt bars lower your upper triple clamp and put some upside down vortex clip ons on

 

i think dirt bike bars are F.I.B.

 

yea i considered doing that but am wondering how much my endos will be compromised lowering them. and bustin' out 120 for clip ons, hmmm i think imma try the cheap 20 dollar way first, we'll see from there if i like it, then i'll go clip ons.

 

teach threw on some woodcrafts on upside down and he said it helped a lot, i think i'm gonna try that route.

 

woodcrafts i think are more than vortex and they both got the 10 degree angle on them

 

i don't know man, i tried gettin' the headlight on and for me at least, the huge *** front brake mc gets in the way from having the headlight on flush. i don't know if it'll be out of the way enough with the woodcrafts/vortex clip-ons mounted upside down even. i still may try db bars cause i think it'll clean up the look of the bike, but what sucks is i won't be able to use my scotts and am gonna have to get a piston type damper also, so more work again with that. i wonder if i'm just better off getting another front mc that doesn't get in the way.

 

don't do it dude,that bike is so pretty,just buy a wrecked f4i cheap and keep that nice 600rr for the fwy. and you don't need db bar's just go with f.i. clipon's on top of the triple,also

 

my 600rr came with some renthal fatbars on it already, and i LOVE THEM

 

i'm afraid the plastics are already off man. i decided to take 'em off before i actually do hurt the bike. i know how they say 'your bike will never be the same' but i believe the honda will take it and with the right parts and tools it shouldn't be too much of an investment. i would love to just have a cheap *** f4i, just haven't came up on one. i got 1K saved up for one but haven't found anything. i do like the idea of having an RR to stunt, just to have something a little different. and i love how smooth the bike is.
