What a night

Well our Saturday night ride fell short tonight. Some of the Saginaw guys came down to ride so we all went over to Fedex. We sat over there for about 15 mins before one of the guys wiped out doing a wheelie. He is ok but his bike wasn't. Looks like he cracked the stater cover and possibly more dont know but all his oil was everywhere. So I went back and picked up my truck and we hauled it to his buddys house wayyy up in Saginaw. Well everything happens for a reason. Just thought I'd post what happened tonight.

Re: What a night

Yeah the guy practically looped the bike. He was trying to learn how to shift from first to second gear doing a wheelie. When he was in the first gear wheelie (way too high) he shifted and gave it too much gas in second which threw him off the bike he just says he remembers rolling alot. To me he seems a little spooked from riding now but he said he would have ridden it home if there was oil in it.

Re: What a night

Well guess what guys. The guy that wrecked his bike last night asked me today if I wanted to buy it so I bought it. Hopefully it was a good deal for $1300. I really wanted a bike for my wife to ride. It has rash on the plastics, left rear set broken, right handle bar bad, front forks leak, and the stator is broken. Let me know what you guys think. The only problem is that the two of the bolt holes in the engine where the stator cover bolts on are broken. Am I able to fix this. I can posts pics if you guys want. I just want to get this thing running and know I got a good deal

Re: What a night

Are the bolts broken off in the Engine or did they pull the threads out? Either case it isn;t not a hard problem to fix. If they are broken you should be able to easy out the rest of the bolts. If they pulled out you will need to helicoli new threads into that hole.

What kind of bike is it?

Re: What a night

Ok the bike is a 1999 CBR F4 (Yellow & Black) 24,000 miles. I took all the plastics off and cleaned everything today. Oh and what happened on the stator is the 2 of the threading holes for the bolts on the engine broke off. Maybe you can see in this pic. These links will work a little after I post this reply.

Cool Re: What a night

That was my buddy that went down that night. Mad props to Matt for helping us out in f-town . Nice to know that there are people in this world that will go out of their way to help others. Never met nicer people to ride with, everyone out that night was more than happy to lend a helping hand in our time of need. Matt and all the Flint riders RULE :YEAH

Hard to tell from those pictures. If the ears broke off the block you are in for a world of hurt. The only thing that might work is to have new pieces welded on and then retap the holes. Someone good at welding could handle this job fairly easy.

Re: What a night

Tony I think you mean him and Jason. Josh's bike is usually together all the time. Guess that has to do with those 5 mile wheelies Jason does.
