thats what I figured.. thats the only time I use mine.. Never noticed a problem.. I also never noticed the fairing getting in the way on gixxers like it does on other bikes

lots of people will put a small weld spot on the tip of the footpeg on the top to keep there foot from sliding off... you can try that

i rode with it stock for awhile until i trashed my tail section and have been riding without it and i like it alot better
its actually the tail section that gets in the way and makes you feel like you can't get enough of your foot on the rear peg......... i just put a tail section back on but i cut a big hole in the side of it where it sticks out so it doesn't get in the way.
nothin like takin' a dremel to your plastics :devil

PS. i have seen people do the weld thing too but i never tried it
