Stunting vs. Riding Wheelies

This pisses me off:

Too many people around here ride wheelies and call themselves stunt riders. I sure didn't consider myself a stunter when I was riding wheelies....I just rode wheelies and said that I rode wheelies if you asked me. Just because you can go the the batting cage and hit some ***** dosen't mean that you play baseball.

For example some kid got arrested in Lubbock for riding some 2 foot high wheelie down the Loop. He told the cop "I was stunt riding" (accoring to the local paper). To me that is bull ****.

A)...it brings somewhat of a bad repution to the sport (not like it has a great one to begin with since it started on the street)
B)...I am busting my *** to try and be well rounded and know EVRYTHING.....a simple wheelie dosen't mean that you can stunt.
C)...THAT PISSES ME OFF

Anyone else think that the term "stunter" is used to loosely.....Maybe I'm just retarted????

I agree its used way to loosely, I used to ride with some guys who would tell people they stunted cuz they could ride out stand-up wheelies. I also try to be well rounded and be good at everything, I'm good at alot, but I still use caution when telling people about my skills, most of the time just saying I can do alot of tricks.

I agree as well, I can't 12, but can do combo wheelies and variations and I still just consider myself a rider. Its stupid people like that, that give stunters bad raps!

Re: Stunting vs. Riding Wheelies

This is my take on this

I have alot of respect for everyone that rides no matter if your a true stunter or U just like to ride for fun. I like people that are for real tell me how it is not how U would like it to be.

Heres my problem

Riders that I meet up with talkin about how great a rider they are and there a stunter then we get out on the street and they pull the front wheel about a foot off the ground for 20 feet and it comes back down WTF. All U did was get me excited that there are more people in my area that can ride and maybe help me push myself to become a better rider. Seems like the people that talk the most cant back any of it up.

This topic pisses me off I could go on for days

Re: Stunting vs. Riding Wheelies

Every person I have ever ridin with that owns a sport bike has tried to wheelie... if they all concidered themselves "stunters" i'd be living in the most heavily stunted city in America.

i agree with rock n 929...........who cares.........the only ones that **** me off as far as wheelies go are the ones that pull a power wheelie a foot off the ground for a few feet and think they did a mile long standup.......posers

Re: Stunting vs. Riding Wheelies

ya, i hear that, it's used way too loosely. also the whole pro/amature thing. When anyone asks me about it i always say i'm an amature stunt rider, i do comps and shows, but i'm no where making a living off of it or as good as the actual "pros" that come to mind.

also, what's up with all these rappers calling themselves stunters? not the ones that say "stunnas" the ones that actually stay stunters. I think there is even a song called "let us stunt" and the ****ers don't do anything but drive escalades they got from their hood money.

Re: Stunting vs. Riding Wheelies

I think being a stunter is a mindset. If you're out there practicing, having fun, thats stunting. Dont have to be good tricks in my book. As long as theres no hype talking beforehand, its all good to me.

LMFAO"Hood Money"??? So that I guess makes them Hood Rich huh??? Thats ya first mistake by listening to that glama *** rap and taking the **** serious. Thats like when they say they are killers or whatever, but yet they arent in jail... Things that make you go hmm, huh Jeff?

But I agree with others, who cares??? Same **** can go for those that say they skate or whatever else they may be. If people cant keep it real, then thats on them. People see my bike or stickers and ask me if I stunt or if Im a stunter. Knowing my skills are dumpsta, I keep it real and tell them Im just learning(which I am). No need for me to front to get peoples approval or friendship or *****.

I can just stand with my arms crossed in a bboy stance and get tha *****

Re: Stunting vs. Riding Wheelies

ok I understand the term is used losely i agree with that 100percent but just wondering what amount of tricks you need under your belt to be a STUNTER its no bigy to me as long as im out having fun, but if its that big a deal let us know what we need to do to be a stunter?

for example i can do wheelies i can stoppie and endo, crist air, skitch, high chair and spliters a few other things but nothin huge like some peeps here but i do know i at least try i say i ride still but really who cares no skin off my nose.

Re: Stunting vs. Riding Wheelies

i kinda agree due to the fact that people who ride wheelies are usually aspiring stunters, i guess riding wheelies is a start
