50 Stunting/Beginner bike
50 Stunting/Beginner bike
I did a search but couldn't find anything, maybe I just dont know how to search properly, but anyways, I used to roadrace a gsxr-750, I have since sold that and now have a yz 250 2 stroke for dirt/MX, but I'm looking to get into stunting. What is the best/safest way to get into stunting? Is starting out with a 50 the best way to go? Also most of the 50's have centrifugal clutches dont they? So how would you clutch up a wheelie ona 50? Thanks in advance
Re: 50 Stunting/Beginner bike
I am doing it the 50 way! I think it is the best way, it's cheaper both to run and maintain and set-up, easier to find spots. You learn brake and throttle control and what b/p feals like. I bought mine back in febuary and just starting to move up to a 636. But I will still carry on gaining skills on the fiddy.

cool, did you get a crf 50? what if anything did you do to it to make it stunt worthy? i.e, the clutch/hand brake etc.. I'm still trying to figure out how you clutch up a wheelie without a clutch....? and where did you practice at? Thanks
Re: 50 Stunting/Beginner bike
Yep original honda crf50. The only way to go, just look around here most will agree. Have a look at www.50stunt.com
I have a van but they are small enough to fit in a car. I stunt at night in parking lots at supermarkets, diy stores etc. industrial estates are good at weekends. Because they are so small the police don't give ya ****!
I bored mine out to 88cc but in hindsight I would keep it a 50cc. You do not need manual clutch, when the revs pick up it wll release the clutch. The torque is right down hit this spot and just power it up. I have got a full set up, but just start with the h/b and big bar kit. Leave sprockets standard.

Re: 50 Stunting/Beginner bike
man i ride my fiddy just as much if not more than my f4i. lol. its so much fun and i would recommend it to anyone who wants to learn how to stunt. because balance point is balance point no matter what youre on. and on a fiddy you can just jump the heck off if you get scurred.
Re: 50 Stunting/Beginner bike
cool thanks, I have ridden a friends fifty before with the big bar kit, it was fun for sure. So are you guys wheeling in 1st gear on the fifty's? just rev it and pull up? His would come up in each gear a little bit if you were at high rpm's when shifting. I also got it to come up by basically doing a neutral drop, just reving it in neutral and then going into first. That was harder to control though
