Compatability Issues

So I just bought a 2001 yzf-600 and I was wondering if it used the same parts as an R6 for the same year? In particular I am talking about sprockets, steering stabilizers, cage & subframe. If not, where is a good place to find stuff, I've only found R6 aftermarkets.

Re: Compatability Issues

not sure, but if I'm correct isn't that a naked sport touring bike?? not sure that i've seen too many sport touring stunters. sounds kinda cool may need to find a fabricator.

Re: Compatability Issues

I picked it up cheap, and I've seen people stunting fzr's so I figured somebody had to stunt these.

Re: Compatability Issues

not familiar enough to know about compatibility. sorry man, seems like i've heard that the R-6 and FZ was basically the same minus plastics, clipons, seat and some top end speed and the height of the passanger pegs. you can check www.teamalpine.com and check out the oem parts micro fiche and see if the part numbers are the same.

Re: Compatability Issues

theres nothing even remotely similar between a yzf 600r and an r6. only thing you could potentially swap is the sprockets and im not sure of that.

you def heard wrong about the fz and r6. take a look at the bikes and you can clearly see theyre completely and totally different, not even a slight similarity.

F4i ring a bell? Haha, kinda a sport-touring bike, when compared to the RR.

Re: Compatability Issues

fzr and yzf 600r are 2 completely diff body styles. the 600r has more low end then a r6. the 600r subframe is part of the frame and steel incredibly strong. a few parts swap between r6 n 600r. both are carb'd n the 600r as reliable as a sv650 or less
