Power Wheelies just as good as Clutch Ups

Re: Power Wheelies just as good as Clutch Ups
ok, my 2 cents, and i'm not by any means a "supa stunta", but I will say this.... good luck powering one up in a parking lot, or in a parking garage from a dead stop. if you can, you rule the world. I used to power wheelie 2nd gear for miles on the freeway on my 05 R-1, but when you clutch one in the same rpm range everytime, litter bike or 600 it goes right where you want it and I believe it's more controlled to clutch one up...

I can power em up with my +14 pretty easy, have it at bp by about 15mph maybe 20..
my friends bike though, +20 -2 gearing.. You can power it up from damn near a dead stop..
Actually on a cold day, his gearing is sooo short, if you clutch it, 50% of the time you just spin the tire.. So I usually just power his bike up in the lot!

Dude, we want to see the video of your pow pow to BP. I'm very new to stuntin', but clutchin' is the only way I've got to BP on stock gearing on my f2. I can power it up in 1st, but never to BP where I could ride it out for very far.

Re: Power Wheelies just as good as Clutch Ups
my first wheelies were pow pows.. i think a lot of people who ride were doin pow pows at first...
when i bought my first real bike a 99f4 after readin all the stuff on here about clutch it up clutch it up this and that...i told myself **** it i'm gonna go try.
so i clutched it up and damn near killed my ****.. it popped up so fast it wasnt even funny not 2 mention i crushed my ****** ***** in the process.. from that point on i said **** wheelies i'm learning how to ride first.
2 years later im on my 2nd 929 the current piece.. and i'm just now starting to get the hang of wheelies.. i got the clutch down and i got the concept of the footbrake down. now i'm just workin on distance and height.
but my first legit wheelie for a block was a power wheelie im not gonna lie and i felt like i was the ****!! now i try to clutch em up though its easier once you get comfy of the bike being on 1 wheel and knowing that the footbrake is there to help you.
oh and on my f4 i couldnt power it up if my life depended on it.. I couldnt get it on that bike.. powering up 600's is a dumb idea.

Re: Power Wheelies just as good as Clutch Ups
I pow pow my R1 right now in first and clutch up in second. i get it right to bp but still having trouble incorporating my rear break. As of now i still rely on engine braking which is exactly why i haven’t clutched up in first. Currently i am looking for a bike to build into a stunter over the winter so I have a bike I can loop the first time i clutch up in first gear lol.

and with your avatar makes me doubt it even more
and all you have to do is learn rear brake control, you wont loop it the first time you clutch it up in first if you know how to use your brake
