03 04 636 forks

how do you tighten te forks to keep from having disaster.
your supposed to tighten what? the silver part of the tube whileholding the bottom part that holds the axle.

yep there is a set screw that you have to loosen first though.....

when you take off your wheel you will see it ,get it loose then put your axle back in to hold the bottom and use a good strap wrench to turn the chrome part into the bottom i use a peice of bicycle tube under the strap wrench for better grip

hey hope you can help me with something... i want to change the bottoms off my good forks cause the fender mounts are broke...

i tried to get that set screw loose but no dice... i bent the allen key trying...

how did you get the set screw loose? heat? different tool? any help is appreciated!

i used a mac 3/8 drive allen key and my 3/8 impact gun but if you stripped yours out you will probably have to drill it out

i thought you got some 05 forks already ?

gotcha... drilled out huh? what can you use in place of the drilled out set screw?!?!


Nope, still didnt get 05-06's... need to though... working on it...

Nope, still didnt get 05-06's... need to though... working on it...
well if your carefull and you use a left handed drill bit just drill real slow and some times the drill bit will back it out while your drilling but if not then you may need to tap the hole out to the next size up

i got a set of 05's on mine now
