I have always used lucas oil, pricey but sprint guys here run the **** out of these mini sprint 600cc bike motors and they all swear by it. They rev limit the whole damn race!

Sweet! That confirms my beliefs. All three AUTOMOBILE oils did BETTER in a motorcycle than motorcycle oils.........wow. I started using Lucas HD oil stabilizer when I noticed the viscosity breaking down quite quickly, now it doesn't seem to break down.

First off......thanks for the link. I use Lucas, so I was quite interested. After reading the whole article, I was kinda bummed/scared. I was wondering if this was what is really going on inside my bike. Well, luckilly enough, it's not. After about an hour and a half riding session, I turned the bike off, and immediately tilted it over and looked in the sight glass. There was about a sixteenth of an inch of bubbles on top, but the rest of the oil looked great. It was not milky looking at all. I'm not sure if maybe the Castrol GTX that I use may have more anti-foaming agents than the oils used in that test or what.....but I do know that my oil holds its viscosity a lot longer w/ Lucas added, and it seems to be working great. So, if you use Castrol GTX w/ Lucas HD oil stabilizer, you're fine. Thanks again.

Re: Question on oil

I've always used Mobil 1 in every vehicle I own (9 total) after researching oils long ago.

Just some useful info...if you would like to use mobil 1 like I do, it is sold at all Walmart Stores for just over 20 bucks for a 5 quart jug

p.s. I use the Mobil 1 "Truck and SUV" oil "for hardworking engines" as I would think what we put our bikes through would be like a truck/suv towing a fully loaded trailer up hill
