Re: 12's, Good Or Bad For The Sport!!!

I cant do 12's so I dunno if this is then considered from a spectator point of view? since im still learning everything?

I like 12s they are def a good step for the sport...but i dont think that everyone should only being doing bar tricks and slow stuff, ppl need to round out their game and be able to rock a lot or the streets.

and i think high speed scrapes on the streets throwin up sparks is gangsta :YEAH

What a thread... brings back memories.. haha.

12s were bad for the sport. It made everybody hang out in parking lots and turn into antisocial parking lot nerds.

...they were also bad because people made these brakelight cages because of them and started riding around with their foot in em all the time.

Imagine a noob just doing a wheelie on a middleweight liter bike and looping it... This is a dangous sport, people get hurt or worse. But thats not gonna stop most of the masses from trying

It is true that you need to take your skills to the street and just not in the lot, but I think if 12's were never invented and we took all the stunters we have in the country and only rocked the streets, our DL's would be gone, we would all be more broke than we already are from the fines from tickets, we'd be all over the news and the cops would be out to kill our asses.

Every month that goes by and this sport grows more spectators/fans WILL one day understand how difficult all combinations of 12's and circles are, and they will think LVX style is garbage just like we do.

Re: 12's, Good Or Bad For The Sport!!!

Well i'm pretty new to this sport i'd say got little over a yr riding and 12's are good for this sport but I'd say they are bad for the show aspect just cause they get boring to watch. 12's are just part of every stunters learning curve. I just got 12s about 3weeks ago and learning 12s has really helped me out riding wise. 12's in a show would get old people don't like just watching 12s. mix it up do some acros, combos etc

Re: 12's, Good Or Bad For The Sport!!!

Didn't read all of it, but I'll give you my opinion moreso as a spectator, since I don't have the skill most of you guys do. I understand what it takes to do 12's and how hard it is 'cause I'm just getting good on my 70, yet can't do much more then a spreader on the f4. But, to me (as a spectator) 12's are kind of like the backflip in FMX. Takes a lot of skill, and is fun to watch, but when that's all you see it does make it look easy and not dangerous etc. etc. making it boring for the spectator. But it also depends on the enviroment. If it were a show, I'd want to see it all..speed, slow, just a whole bunch of variation. But just hangin' out, it's always fun to see how slow you or a friend can go and all that. Just my $0.02 .

Call me crazy but anything is good for the sport if its on a postive note, and 12's a def postive ... so many variations

just my .02

peace
exactly, I really don't get the point of this question...scott is right when saying too much of slow **** is boring, but too much of any **** is boring...how can a single trick be good or bad?

Re: 12's, Good Or Bad For The Sport!!!

man are you guys still on this topic? jeez I'll give you one damn good reason why 12's are bad. DEBRIS!!! think about all the harm done to the atmosphere when all the debris is kicked up as a bar or tail scrapes the ground. you might spill gas or leak some oil. Keep all the tricks on 2 wheels with the motor off people. GOSH!!!!!!!
