disassembling rear shock

how do i get the shock apart, do i just loosen the lock nut and turn the rod? or what

you need to heat up the top mount with either a torch or heat gun to get the tread lock to break loose

easiest way for me (done it twice) is unbolt it from the frame but leave it bolted into the swing arm...tilt it straight up...hold onto the nut that is under the black rubber bump stop on the top and stick a big screwdriver through the top bolt hole and turn counter clockwise
