non-CA Lane Splitting?
non-CA Lane Splitting?
Any non-California residents lane-split? I did it today on the way to work, it felt kinda sketchy but it got me through traffic a hell of a lot faster... Anybody ever gotten pulled for it? What's the ticket? Is it worth continuing? It was nice to be quicker but I'm not gonna get a C&R over 5 minutes.

Re: non-CA Lane Splitting?
i do if im in a rush but if the po are around and i dont have enough gas/time to make a get away then i wont. they call that 'dividing a lane' or some **** and will get you a C&R but that is based on you letting them catch you too
Re: non-CA Lane Splitting?
I saw popo yesterday pretty much cause a traffic jam so bikes would lane split and they would run in front of them and turn their bikes off. Bastards. If they werent there causing traffic, the bikes wouldnt have been lane splitting. ****. When I was passing in the car, they had 2 bikes pulled over and were stopping 1 more.

Lane splitting is legal in Jersey, just don't pull a Clooney.

+1 They see you coming splitting lanes and before you pass them, they run out in front of you and turn your ignition off. Bastards.

You need to look it up in the state you're in. As far as I know, its not legal in most states. But there are certain guidelines you must follow. For example in Cali you can't go faster than I believe 10 or 15mph of traffic. Also the flow of traffic can only be going a certain speed.
I've seen people get reckless tickets for lane splitting/sharing lanes so be careful. And its up to the judgement of the officer to decide if it was reckless or not and more than likely, youre not winning the case in court.

Yup Queens NY is on the hunt for motorcycle riders. Here's the post I just sent out. And yea, they block lanes of traffic. These officers are completely out of control. Brandishing an extended baton during a traffic stop is insane and completely wrong. Has anyone else experienced this behavior. Please make a formal complaint.
The post:
NYC Police has a special task force to target motorcycle riders. They will be extremely vigilant during the last month of June and the first month of July.
I was treated absolutely inappropriately this morning by an officer who used clearly unjustified force against me on my commute to work.
If anyone else is treated violently or lied to by an officer please report the matter to both internal affairs and the civilian complaint review board as I am in the process of doing.
If you lack insurance, a motorcycle license, or up to date registration your motorcycle will be impounded.
They are shutting down sections of roadways and approaching motorcyclists armed with an extented baton.
Be very careful. In three years of rush hour commuting I have never had any kind of law inforcement issue until now.
