Retireing

This last weekend was the last show for me. I am hanging it up. My current and future health is dictating that I am no longer able to ride without jeopardizing it. I am still going to be deeply involved with Scooter Trash and the stunt community. This is one big family that I refuse to turn my back on.

I don't want anyone to think that this is a bad thing. It is a sad day for me and was a very difficult reallality for me to face. The cool thing about turning this page in my life is there is a brand new page to explore.

Again my plans are to have even a deeper involvement in the managing of our team and to produce even better videos than the Streets of Chaos Trilogy.

All I ask my eulogy to riding is to be remembered as a rider that always wanted to put on a great show a rider that was fun and exciting to watch. I want to be remembered as one of the OG's and as a rider that always had the future of the sport in mind. I want to be remembered as... Shiat.... Just... Remembered I guess.

I am available for helping set up shows, shooting video and judging. This OG still is in the game just not on a bike when I do it. The game will still be brung by the German so stay tuned.

PS: I have a back injury that could cause perminent nevre damage if I continue to ride.

Re: Retireing

Sorry to hear that it came to this, but better to stop now and stay involved in the scene than to be mortally wounded and not be involved at all. You have helped me in all areas of riding, and I will return the support you have given me over the years. If you need anything, just let me know, and I'll be there. If you can help us out with some things, we'd love to have you around and as involved in our team as you would like to be. We're just starting out, so all of your wisdom and tricks of the trade are welcome indefinately. Not to pull you away from your roots with Scooter Trash, but more as an outside source of information and guidance. If you guys need help with anything, we're in. Scooter Trash has been an inspiration for me since I started this crazyness way back in '98, and I thank all of you for that.

sweeeeeeeeeeeet!! thanks bro!

But on a serious note, good luck to ya bro. Giving up, even an aspect, of a sport you love can not be an easy decision. But it sounds like you made the right one and ya know we all got your back bro

So who's gonna fill the schwartz slot?

Re: Retireing

Damn, won't be the same without you riding! Thanks for the support and advice you have given in the past, and a pre-thanks for all the stuntin' questions you will answer in the future. On a less serious note, if you habg onto that pimp *** F4i until next year, I'll buy it off you. Unless you want to trade for a breat up 900RR. Remember, just because you aren't riding anymore doesn't mean you can't blow things up.

Re: Retireing

im sorry to hear that you are going to give up stunting, but i am glad to hear that you wil lbe still in the game. what you should do is consider starting up some sort of school where emerging stunters can come and maybe you teach them how to do certain tricks and give them pointers? i dunno. too bad you are giving it up.

Re: Retireing

Wow.

Honestly though, I could hear it in your voice when you told me about the latest injury. It's gotta be a hard decision, but I commend you for doing the smart thing. If nobody cared about you, we'd all just say "aw, keep riding." but as has been previously said, better to talk away and still be able to walk 20 years from now. Thanks for being a stand up guy and a great help to me so far. And I'm sure you'll still be a lot of help to me in the future. You and I share a vision for what kind of video can be put out there. I'll be in touch regarding that.

Re: Retireing

Damn Bro,
Sorry to hear that...but glad to know that u will still be around.
Not to be into your buisness, but is it that u can't stunt anymore or that u "Actually" can ride a sportbike anymore because of the leaning angle.....what about a Cruiser or is it u just can't ride a motorcycle period. Again, sorry to get into your business, but for those of us around the country who don't know your situation.....this comes as a "Shock", or at least for me.
Take Care, man.....glad to know that u'll at least still be around.

Re: Retireing

Matt ever since those days back on South U. in front of Pinball Petes you have been a stand up guy. I know it was tough for you to make this decision of giving up on something you love. You have brought alot to ST and to the sport. Even being somewhat of an outsider I can see that in the way that you talk to other riders, and up and coming members of the team. You have a great common sense about what is going on. The team will continue to grow because everyone in it is family from the founders to the riders to the support group to the fans. So without sounding to sappy......does this mean I dont get to play with the megaphone as much now cause you gonna be on it all the time? Rock on bro you shall go down in history as one of the best.

Re: Retireing

Damm it Schwartz, if you hadn't been playing coed naked twister, you wouldn't have gotten your latest injury, now who am I gonna look up to for my future career in stunting.
On a serious note---that sucks, but good health is a must. Glad to hear your sstill gonna be around, looking forward to seeing you at the shows this summer.
Are you going to teach? I also need to borrow your bike to learn all my slow stuff, ya know that Triumph is just to nice to stunt
All the best of luck to you and ST from your future prodigy's in Toledo.

Re: Retireing

Matt what we have pm'ed about the fixing of that injury still stands, but besides that you will always be an OG in this game riding now or not, I know how hard this has to be to you but on the same note any involvement from you to our team is always welcome and forever will be. Hate to see this happen but like andy said better now then to push it and have a more serious problem occur. We always enjoyed your company and it will always be that way with all of us, so dont forget us as you move on to bigger and better things in the sport. More respect to ya then can be typed from Team Critical Mass!!!!
