Re: problem with bike

When its running, check that the coolant hoses feel hard - indicating that the system is actually pressuring itself. If nothings circulating, she's gonna boil up. If that's the case, may be worth...

Re: My new play thing (pic's)

Someone's thrown a lot of money at that - looks great with silver rims on stock graphics too.

3k is a bit steep, but is nowhere near what's been spent by the looks of things.

The WR (means...

Re: My new play thing (pic's)

Excel rims are stock on the Yamahas.

Looks like the supermoto rims are Morads, which i use to run on my DRZ. Bend easily, but the upside of that is that you can easily straighten them with a small...

Re: My new play thing (pic's)

Cool,

Back in 2006 my WR was road registered on a daylight only ticket.
Weird feeling - you know your bike's legal, but it looks too cool to be legit.

When stopped, the police never had a...

Re: jabgo

CRF's throw rods through the cases.

WR/YZ's eat 3rd and 5th gear - not a problem with a stunter.

Re: CRF450 hand brake

I built my own dual caliper setup and tried with to small a master to start with. I have a 14mm on there now off an NC30, but could do with a 1/2 or 13mm. A lot of sportsbikes have 1/2" clutch...

Re: Handbrake adapter YZ450F

I've got a 14mm master (NC30 front) on there, and it bites OK, but is too wooden for my taste. 1/2" or 13mm is the way to go.

Re: Tire pressure for a stunt motard?

Similar thing here. Because motard's are so unstable, I'd dropped the pressure quite low to begin with, which helped stability, but found that with it higher, although less stable, was quicker to...

Re: KTM 250 EXC-F SM KTM stuntrider Netherlands

May be worth looking on www.thumpertalk.com and seeing if anyone has adapted their KTM to run cables.

Re: KTM 250 EXC-F SM KTM stuntrider Netherlands

The hydraulic clutches have been really light on all the KTM's i've ridden. Far better than the dirt bikes with cable clutches I've ridden.

Re: An Apology....

The gyroscopic effect helps keep the bike from falling over sideways.
Sme way that when you ride fast in a straight line, the bike's harder to lay into a corner.

Good stuff Al.
Looking tidy as always.

Wish I could ride with you, Mark and the other guys again, but my lisence is too valuable at the moment, and can't run the risk of getting nicked.

They're not heavy at all - about as light as most 4-stroke enduro bikes. Similar weight to WR's or CRF's with road kit on, but with the added bonus of E-start.
Loads lighter than the DR-Z.

CRF450's are known for throwing rods, sucks big time.

And all the 250F's eat valve gear like it's going out of fashion, wether modified or not. Earlier CRFs stretch valves all the time too.
