2000 f4 wont start.

I bought a 2000 f4, it came without a key or title aand I got it to build a stunt bike. After I got an ignition for it and battery it wouldn't start. Motor turns and starter is wide awake but it sounds like the motor isn't getting any fuel. The filter isn't clogged and I plan on cleaning the carbs but is there anything I should try out before removing the carbs please let me know. What other things should I do other than clean the carbs and what steps should I take? I couldn't find anything in the search.

And another question, should I be able to hear the fuel pump when I turn the bike on? How do I check to see if fuel pump works? It sucks cuz I have no back ground on this bike and don't even know if the motor is any good.

well i didnt get the help in this post but i would like to tell u all do not buy cheap ebay ignition locks! i got the proper one and spryed the air box once with starter spray, and started right up. saving money is good but too many short cuts will cost you more.

Good to know you got it sorted. I'd still recommend plugs, valves, comp check and carby clean for a bike with a history like that. If you do all your work at the start she'll be a good ride for ages
