I just took a small rubber hammer to mine. it's the hammer that has 1 black rubber end and the other is a clear yellow end that's harder. I first had the tank sand blasted because It was getting powdercoated . then mounted it up on the bike and drew out where I wanted my dent with a sharpie. start at the back of the gas cap and work in a u shape until you get your desired dent. I made tons of little dents instead of big ones to reduce creasing. Since it was being powdercoated it had to be pretty perfect with no bondo. you can see the little hammer marks but it's not too bad. I also couldn't pound the cap down any farther because I didn't want to break the vent lines in the tank. Mine was a california emissions tank

I had to keep drawing my lines out bit by bit so I didn't overdo it the first time.

Be sure to keep your gas cap on when denting so you don't deform the cap mount

I have since added a lil grip tape so there's even less hammer marks
